Getting started

Play

Browser: open play.arkenelle.com. First load downloads the whole client; later visits reuse the cache. This is the lighter build (no weather).
Desktop (recommended): install the itch.io app, open Arkenelle on itch.io inside the app, and click Install. Updates arrive in the app after each release.

First steps

You wake in Castle Garden. The Hall Keeper near your starting cell has your first quest, Find Your Footing. It is orientation, not a class choice. Arkenelle does not lock you into a weapon or profession.

Talk to NPCs when you want a thread to pull. Quest givers are the main way the world points you somewhere. After the Hall, take the main exit into the overworld and find the Foreman.

Progression

Character level is overall growth from quests and kills.
Weapon Mastery is separate. The weapon you wield gains its own experience.
Professions (Mining, Woodcutting, Smithing, and the rest) each have their own 1–99 track.
Training one path never closes another.

While it is alpha

Expect rough edges. Patch notes land in your Mailbox. Type /players to see who is online, and /feedback to send a bug or idea. Discord is the other door.
